Privacy Policy

The short version

cvbyte runs entirely in your browser. Your resume data is stored only on your device and is never sent to, or stored on, any server. We cannot see your resumes — by design, there is nothing for us to see.

What data we collect

None. We do not collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal data. Specifically:

  • No accounts. There is no sign-up, so we never ask for your name, email address, or password.
  • No uploads.Everything you type — your name, contact details, work history — stays in your browser's local storage on your device. PDF generation also happens locally.
  • No analytics or tracking. We use no analytics services, no advertising pixels, no fingerprinting, and no third-party scripts.
  • No cookies. The site sets no cookies.

Where your resumes live

Resumes are saved automatically in your browser's built-in storage (IndexedDB) on the device you are using. This means:

  • Your resumes are available only in the browser and device where you created them.
  • Clearing your browser's site data permanently deletes your resumes. Use the built-in JSON backup export to keep a copy or move to another device.
  • Anyone with access to your device profile can open your resumes — protect your device as you would any personal document.

Hosting

cvbyte is served as static files from a content delivery network. Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses of requests) for security and operations. These logs are not available to cvbyte as user data and contain none of your resume content.

Children's privacy

cvbyte does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it collects no information at all.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
